Dr. Izquierdo has a long history and experience with breast surgery which began during his tenure on the faculty of Loyola Medical Center in suburban Chicago. His extensive experience in breast reconstruction after mastectomy gave him an astute appreciation for the natural breast shape and form as well as the challenges of producing a symmetrical result. In many ways, the reconstruction of a breast after cancer has given Dr. Izquierdo deep insight into the natural form . Many of his patients, when having a mammogram on their normal remaining breast, have been told by their radiologist and family physician that their reconstructed breast is "one of the best they've ever seen." Dr. Izquierdo takes time to assess the subtle shapes, contours, and variations of each patient. This broad experience has translated into an appreciation for improving the breast which is small or has shrunken after bearing children, or has become droopy, or has more size and weight than normal producing neck and shoulder symptoms. Dr. Izquierdo's experience in breast surgery has guided him in producing a gradual sloping form above and the natural fullness below, achieving a "non operated" result.
